Simplify The Valvetrain
DOD/AFM (cylinder deactivation) adds moving parts to the valvetrain that many owners would rather not run. A delete converts the engine to a standard, always-active valvetrain.
What A DOD Delete Does
Cylinder deactivation shuts down cylinders under light load using special components in the valvetrain. Deleting it removes those deactivating parts in favor of standard, non-deactivating hardware and turns the system off in the calibration — so every cylinder stays active all the time. Owners often choose it when doing a cam swap, since both jobs are done at once.
